If C.S. Lewis Says So…

If C.S. Lewis says so,
We know it must be true,
For he is so much wiser
Than either me or you.

Never mind that I don’t find
The things he says convincing–
I’m just me, a nobody,
My brainpan needs a rinsing

To wash out all the creeping doubt
And questions I can’t answer:
My thoughts demure, my feet unsure,
A drunken, stumbling dancer

Am I. Goodbye.
My reason-ship is sinking…
If C.S. Lewis says so,
Why should I bother thinking?
