Life Boat

Won’t you
Unlock it, that chain on your
Heart, with its old, rusted
Lock hanging slightly ajar?
Hang-dog and jaded, memories
Faded, erased and rewritten. Twice
Tasted, once bitten: mouth in a
Mitten, hands in white stockings. And
The boat
Just keeps rocking…

  1. This reminds me of a song I recently heard. I actually really like it, though the sentimental side of me doesn’t like the ending, even though the ending is quite beautiful and is what reminds me of this poem… The song it “Hello My Old Heart” by the “Oh Hellos.” Silly name, huh?

    Anyway, great stuff.
